David,
Another great post.
Another point with the scarcity mindset: the reality we should all have very full practices because there are so many in our communities with real needs.
The problem is, they can't find us because we don't tell them where we are or what we do.
Also, the scarcity mindset leads people to be generalists and try to work with anyone who calls the office, however with an abundance mindset we can relax and know that there are more than enough people who need our services that we can be authentic and true to who we work with best.

David, I love the spiderman analogy! I'm all about a good analogy...
I agree, if our goal is to truly help people with emotional and psychological challenges then we have to check our own resistance to "how it's supposed to be done."

The thing is, we're finally getting what we've wanted for a long time - a change in the negative stigma. And, this isn't because we've continued to sit and wait in our low-lit quiet therapy offices for clients...

...its because people like yourself and others have gone out into the community and shown HOW we can help ease emotional pain, cope with stress, adjust to illness, achieve goals, communicate more effectively with our families, and know ourselves.

I say the goal should be... show your worth to your community!
That's my 2-cents...

Thanks everyone. I'm glad you are finding the information to be useful and a fun read.

Cordes - I think for starters focus on building a foundation before moving on to the areas you listed. By this I mean looking into what you want the scope of your work to be and building some goals around that. hen you go through these steps then it empowers you to choose the right vehicles for you without overwhelming you.
