In my hometown I see lot of small business come into existence with only a few making it. Would be interesting to explore some of the characteristics that make one successful over the other. You won't be surprised to hear that things are exactly the same in Australia. Unfortunately it is the way of the world that people are all expecting 'bigger, better & more' for LESS thus driving delivery & quality down.... I agree – a great post David.

Esther - I remember when P & P was a little hallway of a place and now it is a big time outfit.
