		<description>Great quote Mary.  It is amazing how much more weight the negative seems to carry.  I&#039;ve seen it in private practice and in a variety of other settings.  What is equally amazing is when you are able to break free of that.  The energy can shift dramatically.</description>

The question is - why do these negative, self-defeating beliefs seem to carry more weight with many of us than the belief that we can do more, be more, and have more?  Perhaps even more important is - how can we overcome this tendency to rationalize giving up before we have even started?
