Don’t Forget Your Analytics

Posted by:

These days there are numerous online tools available for less than a cup of coffee, and if used wisely, they greatly enhance your web presence. Google Analytics is one such tool, and it’s power demands attention.

The bottom line is you want Google Analytics for your Website. You’re able to look at the web experience you’ve created and see what’s really happening on the inside – from identifying important market channels, to measuring your social media investment, to researching the length of time a visitor spends on your specific web pages, to analyzing bounce rates {A fancy term representing the percentage of visitors who enter the site and “bounce” (leave the site) rather than continue viewing other pages within the same site.}.

The information you gather from Google Analytics will help you to better understand your online audience. It’ll give you the ability to fine tune the flow of your site, adjust your content, improve your communication with visitors, determine the best times to run a promotional campaign, and it will help you create a better overall experience.

Google Analytics is a free service until you hit 5 million visitors a month (a very nice problem to have). They also offer premium level services for a fee, but my guess is you’ll be just fine with the amount of data you obtain from their standard offering!

If you’re unsure how to set up Google Analytics for your site simply reach out to your web developer. And if you’d like to learn more about the incredible amounts of data Analytics offers, you can view several instructional videos and articles on their website.

All the best!!

Hi, David! I love Google Analytics but feel like I’m only using the simplest of metrics with it. Really need to learn how to put more of it to use! I’ll definitely check out the videos and hope you’ll be talking more about how you use it to your full advantage in future posts!

    Have a great day!

I have two web sites so I get two Google analytic reports each week. I really look forward to them to see not only how many hits my sites have gotten but where they’re coming from and most importantly what key words found my sites. The reports help me determine when I need to tweak the content of my sites. Thanks for stressing how important they are.
