David,
Another helpful post...something my colleagues and I have been talking about lately. I just talked to my web designer about doing this...gave me more ideas to throw at him! Will definetly share with them, as well as my web designer.
Thanks!

David,

My supervisor has recommended I buy your book. I can see why! I had a question about SEO. I've heard that when you link back to sites that are already linking to you, that this really increases your search engine ranking (more than just when they link to you only) Is this true?

David, thanks so much (as always) for your great reminders. It's a process...journey, not destination!

Beautifully stated, David! What a great reminder!

I think to often we caught up with the "latest and greatest" idea for marketing - the next "quick fix" - that we forget that true marketing, effective marketing, is a process and a plan. There is no quick fix, there are no immediate riches, but with a good plan and consistent adherence to it, marketing can amazingly effective.

David, I'm thinking everyone reading this can surely relate to your advice - from elementary school to the grave! It reminds me of my own experiences early on in PE in school. I wasn't particularly athletic and found academics to be so much easier. Along the way I came to believe that "I can't . . . (play softball, basketball, etc.)." Over time, that thinking about physical abilities contaminated many other areas of my life. At 51, I can see the error of my thinking and STILL have it affect the choices I make.

I didn't learn about perseverance from PE in elementary or junior high school. However, I did learn it from other experiences. Now, I pass it on to therapists moving in to private practice who often feel lost when it comes to building a private practice.

I love that you are giving your son a healthy dose of "Don't give up on your art!" I see you do that with therapists here on your blog, too, David. It's a huge gift that you are giving to your son and to other therapists, too. You are changing the way your child and our profession moves through the world. I didn't make it here before Thanksgiving but wanted you to know that I am grateful for the work you do and the wisdom you share.

What a great commentary on a great movie quote!

Personally, for me 2/3 isn't too bad. Building relationships for my practice and consistently blogging 2x per week for the past year has taking me past the planning stage and into committment. However, I am still assessing, thinking, and looking at ideas from my last seminar idea. So I am curious - there are so many ways to take that lesson and implement it, how do other people use what they've learned to continue to excel?

Thanks David - another thought inspiring post!
